invites you to attend special Diwali program at the Gurdwara on
Friday, November 12th, 2004 – 6:30PM.

Why Sikhs Celebrate Diwali:
The Indian festival of lights is held around November 12th. Guru Amar Das Ji institutionalized this as a special day when all Sikhs would gather to receive the Guru's blessings at Goindwal. On Diwali 1619 Sri Harimandir Sahib was illuminated with many lights to welcome home and celebrate the release of Guru Hargobind from imprisonment in Gwalior fort. Sikhs have continued this annual celebration with lamps being lit outside the Gurdwara and sweets distributed to all. The largest gathering happens at Sri Harimandir Sahib, which is lit up with thousands of lights.

7:00 pm - 10:30 pm Special Diwali Food Stalls
10:00 pm Prize Raffles

Special arrangement has been made for additional parking at the following two locations:

* You can also park @ McFadden Intermediate School, 2701 S. Raitt Street, Santa Ana, CA 92704
(You can drop off your family at the Gurdwara first and walk back from the school)
* Free Shuttle service will be available at the school parking lot.
* South Side of Warner Ave. Touching the Gurdwara wall from Fairview to Raitt.

Sewa Opportunity:
We are looking for 25 to 30 Sewadars to help with following activities:
1. Decoration
2. Managing the food stall and kitchen.
3. Managing the main gate for parking directions.
4. Helping out with Kids.
